HARTLEY Wintney moved back to the top of the Combined Counties League thanks to a 1-0 win at Horley Town on Tuesday night.

The visitors winner came from Steven Duff as he calmly slotted in from just outside the six yard box after a cross was flicked on by Liam Eagle.

The victory was even better when you consider the village side finished the game with just nine men.

Steve Noakes was sent off for two yellows just after the hour mark and then Tom Walsh suffered the same fate with three minutes remaining.

Talking after the game, joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: "I was very pleased with the win, it was a valuable three points on an incredibly difficult pitch.

"The boys showed a resilient and relentless attitude In getting the win. Made even more valuable after playing with 10 men for the best part of 30 minutes and then later with nine!"

This Saturday, Hartley will be hoping to make history as they entertain Bradford Town in the fourth round of the FA Vase.

Brownlie added: "We can now look forward to and prepare for Saturday. It's an exciting game for the club and one in which the boys will relish.

Hartley are in the fourth round for the first time in the club's history and the winners could face a mouthwatering home tie in round five against either Hereford or Leicester Nirvana.
