HARTLEY Wintney extended their lead at the top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division to five points after they drew 3-3 with visiting Epsom and Ewell.

The home side took the lead after 15 minutes as Liam Eagle forced in a right wing corner from Adam Everiss.

Soon after, Tom Walsh made a great goal line clearance to preserve lead, but Epsom equalised as Matt Ferdinando made the most of the strong wind to lob goalkeeeper Craig Atkinson from 40 yards out.

The Hartley goalie then produced three top class saves to keep his side level at half time.

Just before the hour mark, the home side took the lead again from the penalty spot converted by Joe Paris.

Three minutes later, it became 3-1 as Everiss' low shot from the left wing took a deflection on its way into the net.

Epsom pulled a goal back from Fernando's free kick and then Hartley captain Sam Argent was denied by a great save .

With five minutes left Epsom bundled home their third goal as the game ended 3-3.

Hartley are in FA Vase action on Saturday when Windsor are the visitors and the village side are hoping to make the third round for the first time since 1992.
