HARTLEY Wintney maintained their 100 per cent start to their league campaign as they won at Hanworth 3-1 on Saturday in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.

The visitors started the better and Sam Argent gave the village side the lead by the break, which also saw the home side reduced to 10 men after a midfielder ran the length of the pitch to knock over Joe Paris.

After the interval, the home side equalised, but Argent netted Hartley's second after he met a pin-point cross from Adam Everiss.

The game was made safe with a third goal as Liam Eagle's rose above his marker and headed home from a corner.

Next up for the leaders is a trip to Bedfont.

Joint manager Danny Brownlie said: "Hanworth is always a difficult place to go and take anything away, so I was very pleased with the win.

"To score three past a side that rarely concede at home is great, but we should have been out of sight by half time."

He added: "We allowed them back into the game in the second half which was disappointing, but credit to the boys who never gave in and got the win that was well deserved."
