HARTLEY Wintney now proudly sit on top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division, after their 11th straight win of the campaign.

The latest side to be put to the sword were visiting Spelthorne Sports beaten 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Captain Sam Argent scored a hat-trick, with the pick of his goals being the last one as he smashed the ball into the top corner.

Spelthorne were reduced to 10 men, shortly after Hartley's second goal after the visiting captain fouled Joe Paris and then pushed him in the face while Paris was still on the floor.

The visitors then scored from a looping header, which was the first goal Hartley had conceded at home in the league this season Eddie Smith rounded off the win with a goal from inside the box to make it 4-1.

Joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: "It was a really good win against a side who were eight games unbeaten until we played them.

"We are a quarter way through the league and remain with a 100 per cent record, which is an astonishing achievement by the boys.

He added: "We are looking forward to Hanworth Villa on Saturday, which is a notoriously difficult place to go, hopefully we can extend our current form."
