A BRACE of goals from Shane Hollomby booked Hartley Wintney a place in the second round of the FA Vase after they beat visiting Wokingham and Emmbrook 3-1.

Their reward is another home tie this time against fellow Combined Counties League Premier Division Windsor on Saturday November 21.

Against visiting Wokingham in their first round contest, the village side found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes.

The home side hit back almost immediately as Sam Argent's cross was headed home by Hollomby.

Hartley goalkeeper Craig Atkinson was then called into action to make an excellent save after a mix-up in defence.

Hollomby then saw his free-kick tipped over by Sean Woodward and the same player went close again when this time he headed against the crossbar.

Hartley continued to pile on the pressure before the break and Argent fired narrowly wide as it remained 1-1 at the half-time whistle.

After the interval, Argent was denied by a great double save from Woodward, before their pressure finally paid off as Adam Everiss left wing cross saw Argent head in at the near post after 68 minutes.

The tie was then made safe as Hollomby scored his second seven minutes from time with another header.

Tomorrow night (7.30pm), Hartley return to league action when they entertain Spelthorne Sports.
