HARTLEY Wintney maintained their 100 per cent record with victory over visiting Chessington and Hook on Saturday, despite playing for more than half of the match with just 10 men.
Ross Cook, Sam Argent and Steven Duff all went close for Hartley in the early stages and the hosts took a deserved lead on the half-hour, Aaron Parfitt's inswinging free-kick evading everyone to find the back of the net.
However, five minutes later and the hosts were a man light, Cook shown a straight red for a two-footed challenge.
Chessington pressed for an equaliser, but Hartley held firm and made sure of the points midway through the second half, Toby Jannaway firing home after Duff had crashed a shot against the underside of the crossbar.
The result leaves Hartley second in the Combined Counties Premier League table, having won six out of six so far this season.
Next up for the village side is a trip to Southern League Premier Division outfit Merthyr Town in the FA Cup on Saturday.
