HARTLEY Wintney FC did not enjoy much in the way of Christmas cheer on Saturday, losing 3-0 at home to local rivals Badshot Lea in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.
Both sides had chances before the visitors took the lead through James Ayres after 39 minutes.
Hartley were very much in the game until the closing stages, but Badshot Lea scored twice in the final six minutes to seal the win. Danny Turner doubled the lead before Zack Hawker’s fine shot from distance completed the scoring with two minutes to go.
Hartley, who sit seventh in the table, will begin 2015 with a trip to mid-table Colliers Wood United on Saturday.
