IT WAS a good weekend for north Hampshire's football teams, with two of the three in action recording good wins.

Overton United and AFC Aldermaston both recorded 3-1 wins on Saturday, while Whitchurch United earned a 0-0 draw away at Folland Sports.

Luke Nellor's strike gave Overton the lead at home to Bush Hill on Saturday and while the visitors levelled through Danny Wakefield, late goals from Dave Parry and Chris Lavisher earned the hosts all three points.

The win leaves Overton 12th in the Hampshire Premier League table but they are in League Cup action on Saturday, hosting leaders Baffins Milton Rovers.

Goals from Nicky Black, Matty Wilkins and Michael Porter earned Aldermaston a 3-1 win at Rotherfield United in the Thames Valley Premier League. They will be looking to build on that result on Wednesday night, when they host Berks County.

High-flying Whitchurch were held to a goal-less draw by hosts Folland Sports in the Wessex League Premier Division. They remain third in the table ahead of a home game against mid-table Alresford Town on Saturday.

Hartley Wintney's trip to Spellthorne in the Combined Counties League Premier Division fell victim to the weather. The village side return to action on Saturday, travelling to mid-table Chertsey Town.

Tadley Calleva were without a game at the weekend but are due to host Amesbury Town in Wessex League Division One tomorrow night.
