TOM Walsh’s long-range goal was enough to seal a win for Hartley Wintney when they travelled to Horley Town on Saturday.
Both sides struggled on a heavy pitch but it was Hartley who created more chances in the first half, with Jack Coventry and Jason Palmer both denied by the home goalkeeper.
Walsh’s winner came when he received a short free-kick and fired at goal from 25 yards, with the home goalkeeper fumbling the ball over the line.
Lukas Burt went close to doubling the lead in the closing stages, but Hartley held on to move up to 10th in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.
The village club host struggling Farnham Town on Saturday, before welcoming fifth-placed Windsor to the Memorial Ground on Tuesday night.
