OVERTON United new boss Gregor Restell admitted it was not the start he was looking for after he saw his side suffer a second loss in the Hampshire Premier League, this time 3-0 away at Hayling Island.
Restell said: "We knew it was going to be tough we have a young side and they will only get better. We were in the contest for the first 30 minutes, but they just proved to be stronger than us.”
Restell had special praise for 20-year-old centre half Archie Fletcher, for his performance against Hayling and he so nearly gave then the lead, but was denied by a point blank save.
Soon after, Steve Caswell had a shot cleared off the line from a corner, and then the home side scored twice before the break. Hayling added a third to complete the victory.
This evening Overton are away at Winchester Castle and on Saturday they continue their travels with a tough trip to Fleetlands.
