OVERTON United will hope to extended their recent unbeaten run in the Hampshire Premier League to four games, when they wrap up their home league campaign with a visit from Liss on Saturday (3pm).
Overton's latest success was a 3-2 victory over visiting Winchester Castle, this was despite them going a goal down after 15 minutes.
The home side equalised after 25 minutes, as Laith Aldoori and Jordan Grant combined and then Nathan Rae skipped past one defender, before he fired into the net.
After this Rae and Siyani Thomas both had good chances, before Overton took the lead as from a throw-in. Thomas held up the ball and fed Ellis Hauman who smashed the ball into the net to make it 2-1 at half-time.
After the break, Castle whose only attacking option was to hit the ball long equalised.
However, Overton were not to be denied the victory, as 10 minutes from time Myles Englefield played a one-two with Ben Wootten and then slotted home from just inside the area.
After the game, manager Titch Bloomfield said: "It was a magnificent win and we had the same squad as the week before to pick from. They all did well again with Ellis Hauman and Kirk Smith I felt our best players.
"Saturday is our last home league game so it would be nice to finish with a win."
