OVERTON United manager Titch Bloomfield was left gutted after his side conceded a late equaliser against visiting Hedge End Rangers, and had to settle for a 2-2 draw in the Hampshire Premier League.

The home side were quickly out of the blocks on Saturday, as Nathan Rae scored in the second minute from a great cross from Alex Jupp.

Overton made it 2-0 by the fourth minute, as Alex Spencer netted as his first shot was saved and he followed up to put away his own rebound.

The home side were in control and the Hedge End goalkeeper produced a great save to deny Rae's free-kick and Siyani Thomas forced another save.

The visitors then made the most of some sloppy defending, as they pulled a goal back on the half hour mark.

After the break, Thomas was denied again by the visiting goalie and then Rae saw his shot hit the post.

With five minutes left in the contest, Hedge End scored from a free-kick as the points were shared.

After the game, Bloomfield said: "We created enough chances to win four games let alone one. We have conceded a silly free-kick right at the end of the game and they have scored an equaliser. I am gutted about the result as we deserved to win."

The result leaves Overton, 15th in the Hampshire Premier League and on Saturday they travel to Headley United who are two places above them.
