KAI Parton Edey's brace helped AFC Aldermaston progress to the quarter finals of the Reading Senior Cup after they won at Rotherfield 3-2.

The visitors started brightly and took the lead after 15 minutes as Matty Wilkins raced through and squared for Parton- Edey to score.

Rotherfield soon hit back and equalised, but three goals in the space of five minutes saw Aldermaston lead again as Liam Tackley played a neat ball through, chipping the defender, and Parton Edey finished with a neat volley.

After the break, the visitors started brightly and Parton Edey's corner was headed in by Martin King on the hour mark.

Visiting goalkeeper Kevin Butcher was then called into action tipping a free-kick onto the cross bar and also cleared the re-bound well, but Rotherfield did pull a goal back.

Aldermaston nearly added a fourth near the end as Carl Allen fired just over after a one-on-one. The reward for the victory is an away tie at Mortimer in the last eight.

Aldermaston return to league action this weekend when they host Thames Valley League Premier Division leaders Reading YMCA.
