HARTLEY Wintney ended their superb season in fine style as they won the Aldershot Senior Cup.

It completed a league and cup double for the Row as they came from behind to beat Eversley and California.

Hartley fresh from their play-off glory over Cambridge City started the better team and captain Dean Stow went just wide with a free-kick.

Then against the run of play Eversley scored to take the lead.

The Row hit back as lethal striker Paul Hodges found the target and then another Stow with a super free-kick made it 2-1 at the break.

After the interval, Nic Ciardini, who scored the winner against Cambridge made it three and Hodges grabbed a fourth to make sure the cup was heading to Hartley.

A delighted joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: "It’s a great way to end the season. I’m really pleased for the boys as they fully deserve it.

"They’ve been tremendous all year, admittedly a little awful in the first half tonight, but we pulled it together in the second half and finished off the season in style.

He added: "Two trophies and a long list of memorable victories and performances. It’s a special group of players within a special club.

"It’s time to put the ball away for a couple of weeks after a long season and then Millers (Anthont Millerick) and I go again to prepare for next season."
