HARTLEY Wintney suffered their first defeat in the 19 games, as they lost 2-1 at Raynes Park Vale in the Challenge Cup.
New signing Luke Perkins from Godalming Town scored on his debut after the visitors found themselves 2-0 down.
Talking after the game, Daniel Brownlie said: "It was a disappointing evening not just through the result but by our own performance.
"Credit to Raynes Park who worked hard for the result and took their chances when they arose.
He added: "We missed a number of good chances last night and didn't react quickly enough to the second ball, you have to to earn your own luck and sadly we simply didn't do enough.
"There is only one reaction that we can all to happen now, that's to work hard at training and make sure we perform at the weekend."
This weekend, Hartley are back in league action when North Greenford United are the visitors.
