WHITCHURCH United were comprehensively beaten by visiting Blackfield and Langley in the Wessex League Premier Division at Longmeadow on Saturday.
Basingstoke Town youngster McCauley Stubbs found the net for the Jam Boys, but Blackfield and Langley scored three goals in the first half and added another after the break to win 4-1, a result that took them above Whitchurch and up to fifth place in the table.
Whitchurch sit sixth heading into another tough home game on Saturday, when they face AFC Portchester, who are currently third in the table.
Tadley Calleva return to action after a week off this weekend knowing that they will be promoted from Wessex League Division One if they can win their remaining two games.
Danny Dolan’s men are currently in the second promotion place, two points clear of third-placed Cowes Sports, heading into a trip to Hythe and Dibden on Saturday.
