BASINGSTOKE RFC head coach Will Croker is keen for his side to carry on where they left off at Guildford when they face Cobham at home on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Croker said: “We really finished the Guildford game well playing at high tempo and scoring at will. I think the boys got a lot of belief from this and want to carry on like this against Cobham.”

Basingstoke will be keen to maintain their 100 per cent home record after they opened their London One South campaign with a last grasp try to record a 33-29 victory over Dover.

They will hope it is not so close this weekend as they face a side who beat Sutton and Epsom 24-23 last weekend after being thumped in their opening game 68-13 at Twickenham.

Croker said: “I think I was expecting Cobham to start a lot stronger, but we are not going to take them for granted and hope to have a good crowd cheering us on Saturday.”

This week ’Stoke will be minus unavailable Jamie Folan and captain Freddie Gleadowe is still out injured.

However, Croker expects Steve Osborne, Oli John and Tim Richards to return to the squad.

Croker said: “We want to make our home ground somewhere no one wants to come and to do this we need to win three or four game at Down Grange on the trot.”
