READING moved up to second in the Championship after they beat visiting Charlton Athletic 1-0.
The home side again found the going tough at home, but they won the game thanks to the tenth goal of the season from Nick Blackman.
He headed in at the back post from Lucas Piazon’s cross with 14 minutes to go after the visitors had been reduced to 10 men.
Charlton defender Patrick Bauer was the man to see red after he picked up his second yellow card after he tripped up Blackman on the edge of the area.
Reading will hope to make it five wins on the trot when they travel to Rotherham on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
The South Yorkshire side slipped back into the relegation zone at the weekend, after they lost 2-1 at Brentford.
