READING are still searching for their first league win of the season after they drew 0-0 with visiting Milton Keynes Dons in their latest Championship outing.

MK hit the post in the first 45 minutes thanks to former Reading player Simon Church, while the Royals Orlando Sa had a header ruled out for offside.

Oliver Norwood and Nick Blackman were denied by the MK goalie David Martin after the break.

It now means Reading have only won once in their last 14 games, but manager Steve Clarke remained upbeat and said: “It was another solid performance, we controlled the game from start to finish.

"We had another 20 attempts at goal and I said to the players in the dressing room, if they continue to play like this, the goals will come for sure."

Reading are next in action on Tuesday night with a tricky looking away trip to Fratton Park to face League Two side Portsmouth in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The south coast side are unbeaten in the league this season, but have drawn their last two games.
