READING picked up their first point of season as they drew 0-0 with visiting Leeds United on Sunday afternoon at the Madejski Stadium.
The first 45 minutes saw few chances with Leeds' Stuart Dallas coming closest with a 20-yard shot which failed to force Jonathan Bond into a save.
After the break, Leeds' Chris Wood and Reading's Orlando Sa both hit the side netting.
Wood also went close late as his volley hit the roof of the net, before in injury-time Jordan Obita's free-kick was well kept out by Leeds goalkeeper Marco Silvestri.
The match will mostly be remembered for a moment when the 21,581 in the stadium gave a standing ovation to Eamonn Dolan, whose treatment comes after an operation to remove a tumour from his bladder.
The draw leaves Reading 19th in the table and the Royals are next in Championship action on Wednesday night, when they they travel to Sheffield Wednesday.
