READING started their build-up to the new Championship season with a 2-2 draw with the Thai All-Stars in Bangkok.
The visitors had new signings Paul McShane, Stephen Quinn and Jonathan Bond on the subs bench, but all three played after the break.
The Royals took the lead after good work from Tarique Fosu allowed Nick Blackman to score.
The home side levelled things right on half-time as Ali Al-Habsi was beaten by a curling free-kick from Pakorn Prempak.
The All-Stars took the lead thanks to Pinyo Inpinit, but sub Pavel Pogrebnyak scored a late equaliser as he slotted home Dominic Samuel’s cross.
An Reading XI will visit the Soccer AM Stadium to face Basingstoke Town on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
