READING booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round after a 1-0 victory at Huddersfield in an all Championship clash.

Nick Blackman scored the winner after 69 minutes, as he fired home Hal Robson-Kanu’s pass, with what was the only shot on target in the whole contest.

The home side should have been in front, before the Royals scored, but James Vaughan failed to get his header on target.

Huddersfield’s miserable day was compounded, when late on Jonathan Hogg was sent-off after he picked up a second yellow card.

Reading manager Steve Clarke said: “It was not a classic game, but a very good away performance.”

The Royals return to league action on Saturday, when they face a visit from high flying Middlesbrough at the Madejski Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
