HARTLEY Wintney youngster Ross Cook hit a hat-trick to help his side to a dramatic 4-3 victory away at Colliers Wood United in the Combined Counties League Premier Division on Saturday.
Hartley found themselves a goal behind early on, but player-manager Ben Dillon soon levelled and Cook’s outstanding goal direct from a free-kick (see video below) had the visitors ahead at half-time.
Goalkeeper Craig Atkinson made a great save to keep his side in front early in the second half and Cook’s second seemed to put the village side in control.
Colliers Wood did not give up, pulling a goal back when Hartley were penalised for a back-pass and levelling the game from the penalty spot, but Cook’s hat-trick strike capped a fine individual display and earned the visitors all three points.
Hartley sit seventh in the table ahead of a home game against struggling Horley Town on Saturday.
