HARTLEY Wintney suffered the heartbreak of going out of the FA Cup on penalties against visiting Ardley after the game ended 0-0.
The village side lost the shoot-out 5-4 on Tuesday night after Craig Barker, Ryan Stephens, Ian Jones and Shane Hollamby all score, before Max Elward saw his spot kick saved and the FA Cup dream was over.
Earlier, in the game Stephens had the chance to score from the penalty spot, but a good save denied him.
A disappointed Hartley boss Ben Dillon said: “We should have won it in 90 minutes.”
This Saturday, Hartley are in Combined Counties League Premier Division action against unbeaten Spelthorne Sports.
