IT HAS been a season of highs and lows for Hartley Wintney, but manager Ben Dillon is pleased to have secured a top-10 finish in the Combined Counties League Premier Division.
The village side ended their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to visiting Camberley Town, Sam Argent scoring a late consolation for Hartley, a result that meant they have to settle for seventh place in the final standings.
Hartley made a fantastic start to the campaign, but their FA Cup exploits took their toll as they suffered a mid-season slump, before ending strongly to finish in the top 10.
Manager Ben Dillon said: “Overall, the boys have been brilliant. I could not have asked for more and it’s a good platform for next year.
“My aim for the season was to finish in the top 10, and while there was a stage where I thought we could make the top five, we have to be happy with seventh.”
