HARTLEY Wintney’s hopes of winning the Combined Counties League Premier Division suffered a blow as they were beaten 3-1 by leaders South Park at the Memorial Ground on Tuesday night.

The visitors took the lead and while Sam Argent levelled for Hartley, South Park scored again to lead 2-1 at half-time. Hartley had plenty of pressure in the second half but were unable to pull level and the visitors sealed the win with a third goal late on.

The result leaves Hartley 14th in the table, 20 points behind South Park, though the village side have played six games less due to their FA Cup and FA Vase commitments.

Hartley are in FA Vase action again this weekend, travelling to Erith Town, while they are due to host struggling Mole Valley in the league next Tuesday.
