A MARATHON shoot-out in the Hampshire Sunday Senior Cup round four ended up with the Soldiers Return losing it 11-10.

Soldiers Return travelled to Alverstoke to play Village Home, who play in the Gosport, Fareham and Solent League.

Village Home currently lie in second place, but hold a 100 per cent record after 12 league and cup games this season.

In a very competitive match, the hosts were 1-0 up after 15 minutes from a corner.

Soldiers struck back immediately 1-1, after Cobi Judd shot up the wing and cut the ball back for Freddie Cloke to equalise.

Only five minutes later Soldiers were 2-1 up with Cloke netting from the penalty spot.

That remained the score at the interval.

Village Home levelled the game again 2-2 on 55 minutes, but with 10 minutes to go Liam Doran fired in a Soldiers’ shot from 25 yards to go 3-2 up.
