JOE Hill scored a hat-trick as Twentyten beat Overton United 7-1 in Division One of the Basingstoke and District League.

Twentyten came back from 2-0 to beat Herriard Sports 4-2.

Herriard's Chris Dobbie had them 2-0 up, but goals from Joe Osborne, Charlie Manning, Christian Cox and Hill.

After full time the two teams formed a guard of honour for the referee John Nicholls and both sets of players signed card. Nicholls has decided after 30 years to give up the whistle.

Herriard will have a chance of revenge when they meet Twentyten in the Basingstoke A Cup final at Winklebury in two weeks time.

The other scheduled Division One match between Hook and Winklebury Wizards was cancelled, as Wizards could not raise a team. Hook will be awarded the points.

Sherborne Saints went top of Division Two after beating Chineham 5-1 in midweek and followed it with a 3-1 success against Basingstoke Colts on Saturday.

Goals from Alex Izzo and Matt Kelly gave them a 2-0 lead against Chineham. Richie Smith replied, but further goals from Kelly, Ben Dillon and Luke Morgan made sure of another three points.

Against the Colts, Saints goals came from Dan Grimes and a Liam Doran brace, while the Colts goal came from Billy Williams.

Unbeaten AFC Berg are still the main threat to the leaders as they catch up on their back log of fixtures. A depleted Longdog Soldiers were the latest team to suffer, beaten 8-2 on the Monday. They were 6-0 down before Terry Dingley converted a penalty and Soldiers also hit the bar three times. Berg's goals came from Ashley Elward (3), Louis Vickery (2), Dan Deadman (2) and Harry Rudge. Alex Spencer scored the second for Soldiers.

Longdog suffered again on Saturday when they were beaten 3-0 by Somesay as Hayden Chalker netted and a cross was the same player led to a Max Trodd own goal. The third came from Cullum Greenley. Longdog were so short that even manager Matt Morrison had to make a rare appearance and almost scored.

AFC Aldermaston A beat Chineham 10-0. Liam Belcher scored three and there were two apiece for Vinney Kennedy and Luke Dowling, while Gary Bone, Byron Porter and Jamie Whiteway all netted singles. For Chineham Richie Smith had a goal disallowed and Shane West forced a decent save.

Last Thursday, Twentyten Reserves beat AFC Aldermaston A 3-1. Aldermaston led at the break from Vinney Kennedy. Three minutes into the second half goalkeeper Matt Desay brought down Dan Hancock, a penalty resulted and Hancock equalised. In the 70th minute Hancock made it 2-1 and Tom Mole completed the win.
