THERE was no joy for Twentyten in the final of the Hampshire Junior A Cup final as they lost 2-0 to Broughton.

Broughton goalkeeper Ashley Kelly was the the man of the match for his valiant efforts in keeping a clean sheet and stopped numerous efforts.

Early in the game, both Lucas Pickett and Christian Cox were denied, before Broughton took a 2-0 lead by the break.

Twentyten responded with good chances for both Ryan Lupton and Jake Tanner, with more heroics from the goalkeeper.

Dan Hancock was introduced for the second half and Twentyten had more of the game Joe Osborne had a great chance following an assist from Cox and again Jake Tanner forced a low save from Kelly.

With the pitch at Herriard still waterlogged, they opted go play their Basingstoke and District Division One match against Tadley Calleva A at Barlow’s Park and lost 5-1.

The final score flattered Bradley Nash’s side as Herriard had four shots cleared off the line and hit the bar twice.

Peter White with hat-trick led the Tadley scoring and Michael Abbott and Jack Jones scored the others. Herriard's lone goal came from Nick Saunders.

In Division Two last Wednesday, AFC Berg won 6-1 at Longdog Soldiers for whom Tom Adams scored.

Lee Neal hit a hat-trick, Ashley Elward got a brace and Kieran Alleyne scored for Berg.

On Saturday, Berg beat Basingstoke Athletic 9-1

Harry Rudge, Elward, Alleyne, Peter Lomax, Dan Deadman and Carlos Gonzalez made it 6-0 at half-time.

Lewis Crawford pulled one back, before Elward completed his hat-trick and Alleyne netted a second.

Somesay were 7-1 winners over Origin Headley, who were reduced to 10 men after just four minutes after a rash tackle by Dan Trussier.

Joe Hodge led the way with five, while the other two came from Luke Gore. Anthony McClaren scored Origin's lone strike.

Basingstoke Colts' second win 3-0 over AFC Aldermaston A moves them and clear of the bottom two as Aldermaston A went bottom.

Johnny Williams, Jake Barnes and Liam Self all scored

Sherborne Saints went top after beating Twentyten Reserves 7-2, as Alex Izzo scored a hat-trick, Luke Morgan (2), Adam Burridge and Warren Hill.

Franklin Spacagna and Tom Mole netted for Twentyten.

THE Basingstoke B Cup Final is on Saturday (6.30pm) at the Winklebury Football Complex.

AFC Berg face Twentyten Reserves and Berg have already beaten Twentyten first team to win the Peter Raynbird Cup 4-2 three weeks ago.

So Berg should start firm favourites to pick up their second trophy.

To reach the final Twentyten Reserves beat Longdog Soldiers 3-0 in round one, Basingstoke Colts 1-0 in the quarter finals and Somesay 2-1 in the semi-final.

AFC Berg had a bye to the last eight where they beat Chineham 3-0 and won 6-1 against AFC Aldermaston A in the semis.
