ONCE again the Basingstoke Saturday League fixtures were curtailed due to waterlogged pitches, with just two surviving, both in Division Two.

Fortunately AFC Berg, way behind with their fixtures, was one of them to play and beat Sherborne Saints 4-1. to end their 100 per cent record in the league.

Lee Neal opened the scoring for Berg and on 35 minutes, Saints had a chance to level as they awarded a penalty when Tobi Judd was fouled in the box. However, goalkeeper Torren Kerridge saved the penalty taken by Matt Livingstone.

On the hour mark, Kieran Alleyne chased a through ball and scored and 10 minutes later the same player struck again with a diving header from Ashley Elward's cross.

With 10 minutes to go sub Louis Vickery broke away to give Berg a 4-0 lead. Saints scored a consolation from the penalty spot thanks to Livingstone converted.

The other match played was between two of the clubs at the other end of the table and it proved fruitful for bottom of the table Basingstoke Town Colts who won their first game of the season beating Origin Headley 4-2.

It was Origin who took the lead through Stefan Graham in the 40th minute, after a very even first half, the pass coming from Reece Emery. Colts were playing only their second match in 14 weeks and equalised in the 50th minute from Benica Oprea's 20-yard free-kick.

Soon after, he gave them the lead from a cut back by Tom Barnes. Origin came again within five minutes to level when Shane Thorne was at the far post to net a cross from Leo Pedro.

Craig Bailey then hit the post for Colts with a 35-yard shot before Oprea found Conner Pullen and his shot found the top corner of the net. Origin went down to 10 men when Thorne was sent off for two yellows and Colts cashed in to add a fourth through Tom Barnes.
