AFC Aldermaston Reserves recorded a resounding 6-2 win over local rivals Tadley Calleva A in the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One.

With Bradley Nash away, Goff White, a former Basingstoke Town manager took charge of Tadley and said: " We were not positive enough and did not recover from their two goals, both scored by Reece Barrett in the first half."

Possession wise it was an even half and when Jason Graham curled a fine shot over goalkeeper Matt Desay in the 53rd minute there was hope.

It was not to be for Tadley gave the ball away too much and Carl Allen put away a cross from Steven Francis and then went on a solo run and lengthened the Aldermaston lead.

Kye Theodore came on as sub and pulled it back to 4-2, but Adam Perrett added two more in the last 15 minutes to add to Goff’s misery.

Hook march on to their third championship in a row after beating Herriard Sports 5-2.

However, the visitors cause was not helped when Simon Jane was given a straight red card following a tackle referee Graham Train felt was over the top.

This was in the 44th minute and by then the score was 3-1. In the 19th minute a shot from Dan Mauridian was parried by goalkeeper Keith Dickens and Jon Noakes had a tap in.

A penalty in the 22nd minute taken by Dan Mauridian following a foul on Dan Mellors made it 2-0 and this was followed by a curling 25 yard shot from Noakes.

Chris Dobbie was fouled and Jason Minton scored from the penalty spot to put Herriard back in the game, but with ten men for the second half it was difficult and the great volley by Davies made it 4-1 following a pass from James Westwood.

Mauridian netted his second from another Davies assist by the 62nd minute and Herriard did well to keep their shape with Richard Ellis forcing a fine save from Greg Archer and Dobbie hitting a good chance wide.

However they were rewarded for their efforts when a good effort by Dobbie from a Matt Goodman cross, resulted in an own goal in off Malcolm Rogers.

Following their hefty defeat against Hook the previous week, Winklebury Wizards did better this week against Twentyten, only losing 6-3 to their second placed opponents.

It was in fact Wizards who took the lead after eight minutes through Matt King, a header from a Ben Evans free-kick.

They held the lead until the 44th minute when a shot from Lucas Pickett was half saved by keeper Adrian Parker and Joe Osborne snapped up the rebound. With the strong wine in their favour Twentyten went in front when a long free kick taken by Craig Atkinson proved too good for the goalkeeper and then Pickett made it 3-1.

Wizards were not done and Vincent Mundane scored to give the underdogs some hope, but it was not to be as Ryan Lupton took a pass from James Arnold to give Alan Spacagna’s side a 4-2 advantage. Wizards came again in the 70th minute when Jack Arthur took on two men and shot past Harry Nash.

The revival did not last and Charlie Hill, back from a spell at Tadley Calleva, scored from a 50 yard shot that bounced over the keeper and then came the sixth when Lupton netted his second.

There was just the one Division Two match and it resulted in a 7-3 win for AFC Aldermaston A against Chineham, which was their first points of the season. Chineham went two goals down by the 22nd minute and then Shane West pulled one back from a Tom Collingridge assist.

In the 56th Chineham drew level when West scored a again, this time after Collingridge had hit the bar.

Aldermaston regained their lead in the 57th and they netted two more before Ricky Smith netted a West cross. Among the Aldermaston scorers were Liam Belcher (3), Paul Mellor, Josh Maylen (2) and Vince Kennedy.
