REPUBLIC of Chineham were three goals down at half-time in their Basingstoke and District League Division One match against Husaria.

The hosts turned the game around to win 4-3 thanks to Sam Nichols, two from Ashley Elwood and an own goal.

It was an even and fiercely contested first half between Soldiers Return and Affini Technology.

So it wasn't until 10 minutes before half-time that the deadlock was broken.

Fred Cloke picked out Alex Izzo to slot home and put Soldiers 1-0 up. After the break Stu Cubbage made it 2-0 from 10 yards out.

Affini were not out of it, pulling back to 2-1, but a 3-1 cushion was restored after Izzo pounced on a fumble by the visitors' goalkeeper.

Once more the game see-sawed at 3-2, before Ellis Hauman scored from 18 yards for 4-2.

An own goal stretched the lead to 5-2, finishing at 5-3 by a late consolation.

Affini Technology goals came from Anthony Gallagher, Joe Lawler and George Jones. Only one match was played in Division Two, where Basingstoke Saints took an early 1-0 lead through Ryan Webb's good goal, the youngster showing much promise in recent games.

North Warnborough soon levelled with an effort from outside the area 1-1, and that remained the score at half-time.

Soon after the restart Boro scored a second from a breakaway.

Saints' confidence dipped and soon the score was 5-1 against before Alan Green, returning after several months out, pulled off a reply with a great finish.

North Warnborough's tally came from Alex Jeffers, Ryan Pilley and a Sean Delfosse hat-trick.

With their last Division Three game of the season, North Warnborough Reserves went ahead after 15 minutes after Tom Davies scored a breakaway goal, then Davies hit Chineham Athletic again on 30 minutes, so they were 2-0 up at the interval.

Boro made many more chances before Peter Hodgeson jumped on a defensive error and slotted the ball away for 3-0.

Athletic pulled one back to finish 3-1. Boro's title hopes now rest on Camrose Social losing or drawing their last game.

Meanwhile, second place Camrose Social kept the pressure on with a 4-0 win at Overton United, with two goals from Aaron Burt and singles from Matthew Foreman and George Martin.

Chineham Reserves beat Soldiers Return Reserves 3-2, with Chineham's goals from Scott Berry with a brace, and Lee Sappleton.

DG Athletic lost their last game 7-0 to Team FC.
