HOOK look favourites to win the Basingstoke and District League Division One crown and take another step to the crown with a 2-0 win over visiting DC UK.

They are now just five points behind Twentyten who have finished their fixtures with three matches and two of them are against he bottom two, Bounty United and Basingstoke Athletic.

In Hook's latest win they opened the scoring after 53 minutes as Dan Mouradian tapped in after good play by Dan Mellors and Dan Framp. Mouradian had a chance to make it 2-0 with a penalty, after Framp was brought down, but fired wide. DC were reduced to 10 men and then Dan Mellors made sure of the win.

Tadley Calleva defeated the leaders Twentyten 3-2.

Tadley took the lead after six minutes when Dan Walkley scored from a tight angle from a Peter White cross. They then went two ahead in the 15th minute. when a corner by Walkley was headed home by Jamie West. On the hour mark, Twentyten pulled a goal back when Charlie Hill scored from a Charlie Manning free-kick.

After this Twentyten had good chances through Joe Hill, James Arnold and Jake Tanner, but it was not their day and on the 80th minute Kye Theodore made it 3-1 from a Gary Hibbs square ball. Hill did manage to score in the 90th minute, one of the six chances he had during the game.

Hill also scored the winner for Twentyten as they won at DC UK.

Basingstoke Royals could not raise a team to play AFC Aldermaston Reserves who will now received the three points.
