FIVE second half goals kept Hook hopes of the Basingstoke and District League Division One title alive, after a 6-1 win over visiting AFC Aldermaston Reserves.

The victory moves them into second place five points behind leaders Twentyten with two matches in hand.

In the first 45 minutes, Pete Silvester gave Hook the lead from a Morgan Davies cross.

Then just before half-time, Aldermaston's Ricky Waknell hit both posts for the visitors.

Dan Framp extended the lead after a shot by Silvester rebounded off the post and Dan Mouradian made it 3-0 as Hook attacked consistently.

The fourth came from penalty, converted by Tom Davies after Andy Parker was brought down and a Parker free-kick some 30 yards out made it 5-0.

A good ball from Davies led to Mouradian scoring his second and it was at the death when Aldermaston substitute Matt Desay lobbed goalkeeper Greg Archer, after a poor back pass.
