SOLDIERS Return marched into the third round of the Andover Presidents Cup with a 5-1 victory over Andover RBL on Remembrance Sunday.
It was a close-fought battle in the first half, only Mike Gilham's goal 1-0 separated the sides.
Soldiers dominated the second half, with Alex Izzo striking from the edge of the area at a tight angle, to double the score.
Andover RBL replied with a penalty to make it 2-1, but the Soldiers marched on with Izzo scoring twice to complete his hat-trick, the first from a corner by Fred Cloke, before Cloke scored a penalty.
League debutants Husaria are going well in cup competitions and this week recorded their first away win with a 6-2 success at Broughton. Pawel Derbot scored four and Mateusz Kubacki a brace.
Republic of Chineham went down 3-2 away at SParTEN, as Wayne Finn and Ben Nicholls scored for Republic.
Cup-holders Tron progressed with a walkover, after Andover Sports failed to raise a team.
Basingstoke Saints went down 4-0 to visiting Bramley United in the Hampshire Junior A Cup.
Saints created four one-on-ones, which were all saved.
The second half was a scrappy period of play which surrendered few chances.
Colin Bell scored twice and Adam Bartlett netted from a penalty to add to an own goal. This was Bramley United's fifth win in a row.
