HERRIARD Sports returned to the top of the Basingstoke and District Division Two, after an easy 4-0 win against Longdog Soldiers.

It could have been a lot more if not for some excellent goalkeeping from Jake Barnes.

Herriard led after 10 minutes after Chris Dobbie's cross found Sam Cato. His effort was parried by Barnes and Sam Weber finished off.

Two minutes later, Cato made it 2-0 and only good saves by Barnes kept it to two until the 48th minute, when Cato converted Chris Smith's cross.

Herriard's fourth came on the hour mark as Dobbie scored from Adam Nelson.

Former leaders Basingstoke Labour Club and Winklebury Wizards fought out a 3-3 draw.

Labour's opener was an own goal after Matt Kelly's shot deflected in off Josh Craig.

George Langden equalised and Scott Large then put Wizards ahead.

Goals from Wayne Barlow and Seweryn Zajdel to put Labour in front again, but Connor Stratton came up with the late goal to earn a point for the Wizards.

Chineham are newcomers to the Saturday League this season and against AFC Berg put on a decent performance, but went down 2-1.

Berg led after 16 minutes from Kieran Alleyne header and Ashley Burchett added a second on 35 minutes.

Chineham reduced the lead 10 minutes after the break from Luke Russell following a Hugo Carlos free-kick.

Berg would have scored a couple more, but for good goalkeeping from John Hamill.

AFC Aldermaston A managed a 1-0 win against Twentyten Reserves.

The lone goal came after 22 minutes, as Nick Carter scored following a good run from Nathan Price.

Origin suffered another defeat; this week beaten 6-1 by Overton United B.
