The Basingstoke and District Saturday League season ended on Saturday with Hook crowned Division One champions, with Tadley Calleva A second. Tron won Division Two, with Basingstoke United taking the runners-up shield.

Hook ended their league matches on a high note winning at Twenty Ten 5-0 away and so finished five points clear of Tadley.

The victory was good preparation for the All Champions Cup Final on Sunday morning (11am)_at Winklebury when they take on Sunday League champions Soldiers Return.

Hook were soon ahead against Twenty Ten thanks to Dan Mellors in the fifth minute and the same player doubled the advantage.

Early in the second half, Mellors completed a straight hat-trick with a 20 yard drive and then John Neville and Dave White scored further goals.

Tadley Calleva A ended their good season with a 4-0 win against third placed Sherborne St John as Kye Theodore was again in top form as he scored another hat-trick.

It was the eleventh time this season he has scored three or more times in his 54 goal tally.

Liam Belcher scored the otherTadley, for whom Charlie Cunningham picked up an assist on his debut.

Division Two Champions Tron completed their league programme, unbeaten throughout after beating nine men Herriard Sports 9-2 on Saturday, having three days earlier beaten Basingstoke United 4-0.

It has been an outstanding season for Darren Hutchins’ men only beaten twice in two cup finals.

Their final game is the Hampshire Junior B Cup Final at Alton on May 14.

On Wednesday against Basingstoke United, Tron’s Cook scored all four goals.

At Herriard, with the bare eleven, Hutchins played throughout and he opened the scoring.

After this Ben Nicholls hit four, Gordon Birch a hat-trick and Sam Nicholls scored the other. Herriard’s two goals came from Charlie Taylor.
