ROSS Cook scored a brace of goals as Tron's Sunday side won the Kelvin Cup with a 3-1 win over Arms Athletic.

Tron started the game played at Winklebury brightly, Michael Allison heading a cross to force a save after three minutes and then Arms Athletic retorted with a free-kick over the bar. Ross Cook then headed Tron in front after 10 minutes.

Soon after, Arms' centre half Thorne shot from distance, but Luke Stickland fending it off for a corner, which was driven into the side netting by former Tron man Cogan. James Tennant then won a corner,from which Cook fired over the bar.

On 18 minutes, Tennant beat the goalkeeper, but Thorne cleared off the line and then four minutes later, Chris Morris' cross saw David Parry head wide.

Arms' danger man Beavis won a corner, which Thorne headed wide and then on 33 minutes Hudson's shot was tipped over by Stickland.

Tron doubled their lead as Cook's shot was charged down, but Morris converted the rebound after 40 minutes.

After the break, Tennant forced a corner from which Cook fired wide and then Arms went close as Stickland pulled off another finger tip save.

Arms pulled a goal back after former Tron player Scott won a penalty, which Vinny Rusher put to the right of Stickland to make it 2-1.

Tron went close as Parry found the side netting and then Stickland produced a great save to deny an equaliser.

With three minutes left man of the match Cook made sure Tron won the trophy.
