TADLEY Calleva A secured second spot in the the Basingstoke and District League Division One with a 2-1 win visiting Twenty Ten.

Tadley boss Bradley Nash said after the game: "Although it was closely fought throughout, I felt over the 90 minutes we edged it."

Top marksman Kye Theodore gave Tadley the lead after 24 minutes, with a half volley after good build up play from Luke Allison, which took his tally to 51 for the season.

Although Joe Hill missed a very good chance to level, they extended their lead on 50 minutes.

A corner taken by Liam Belcher and headed home by Ashley Saunders.

Twenty Ten certainly had a better second half, but Jack Clarke was guilty of missing a real opportunity to get them back in the game.

They finally scored in the 70th minute as on the break, Clarke broke through and his cross was put away by Christian Cox.

Chances came and went as they tried to force the equaliser and manager Alan Spacagna now has the Hampshire A Cup Final on May 14 to look forward to.

At the other end of the table Basingstoke Athletic beat Labour Club 7-2 which means Labour will end up in the bottom two.

Athletic led 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Dale Bristow, Nathan Read and Ryan Evans.

Evans added a fourth, before Labour opened their account.

Cameron George converted Wayne Barlow's cross and then Matt Kelly headed in a second.

After this Evans' hat-trick and a second from Bristow completed the scoring.
