NEWLY crown Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One champions Soldiers Return left to late to earn a 1-1 draw at Oakley.

The opening goal was scored by Oakley's Samie Aldoori followed a defensive mix-up, as the goalkeeper and a defender collided and a simple punted clearance ended up in the net.

Oakley almost took a two-goal lead five minutes later, after goalkeeper Sean O'Brien conceded a penalty, but saved the spot kick.

With ten minutes to go, Jamie Galpin equalised for Soldiers with a shot from the edge of the area, leaving Oakley disappointed in the 1-1 result.

Oakley are currently second with one game remaining, against FC Basing, who are four points adrift with two games left.

However, Tron could overhaul both of them as they are, six points behind with four games remaining.

Wheatsheaf and FC Basing played out a 0-0 draw.

Affini Technology need a point from their final game to clinch the Division Two title after they drew 2-2 with Revolution.

Bramley United beat Hampshire Irons 2-1, thanks to Colin Bell's strike after 30 minutes and Stuart Leddy made it 2-0 halfway through the second half.

The match was evenly fought throughout and with 10 minutes to go, Irons' were rewarded as Charlie Henry scored with a solo effort.

UWS finished fourth after they beat Chineham 4-3 as both sides completed their campaign. Lee Head (2), Darren Head and Nathan Glasgow netted for UWS and James Stacey, James Harvey and Jamie Dockree scored for the visitors.

North Warnborough Reserves celebrated their Division Three league and North Hants John Ward cup double with a 12-0 drubbing of Chineham Reserves.

The visitors only managing to muster nine players and the home side scored four in the first 45 minutes and eight more after the break.

Alexander Jeffers filled his boots with five and Sean Delfosse netted four, while there were singles for Sam Wilson, Brian Killy and Rob Loveday.

Chineham Athletic won their final match 3-2 against DG Athletic, which was revenge for a defeat in the reverse fixture. DG scorers were Jez Cheek and Matthew Lowe.
