THE Division One and Three champions of the Basingstoke and District Sunday League were decided last weekend.

Soldiers Return took the Division One crown, while North Warnborough Reserves took the Division Three title.

Soldiers won a thriller in their latest outing beating Tron 3-2. They took an early lead through Freddie Cloke but were soon pegged back after David Parry equalised for Tron.

Soldiers had the wind and elements in their favour in the first half and Ellis Hauman restored their lead before Cloke got his second, latching onto a ball cut back from Andy Darmody, for a 3-1 lead at the interval.

In the second half Tron had the weather advantage to pin Soldiers back and halfway through the half George Paphiti, the Tron centre half, made it 3-2, leading to a nail-biting finish, but Soldiers held on to retain their title.

In Division Three, North Warnborough Reserves drew 0-0 against Camrose Social which was enough to make sure of top spot.

At the other end of the table, Chineham Athletic and Basingstoke Saints Reserves drew 1-1, giving the Saints youngsters their ever first league point.

In Division Two, Bramley came back from a goal down to win 5-3 at Chineham.

Kieron Alleyne scored all three for Chineham. Bramley United's goals came from Nick Harris, Adam Bartlett, Colin Bell (2) and Stuart Leddy.
