TRON won the North Hants Senior Cup final thanks to a 5-1 win over Dayers Fine Foods.

Kicking downhill in the first half, Dayers made the most of the advantage and were the better side in the first half hour, keeping their shape and passing well, always able to find a spare man.

Tron clearly had the better ball players but were less well organised, often overrunning the ball instead of passing.

Ex-Tron player Lee Neal opened the scoring for Dayers on 23 minutes, slotting a left foot shot past the goalkeeper.

For the last ten minutes of the half, Tron piled on the pressure, forcing Dayer's best player up to this point, Hill, to play deep with only Neal up front, inviting Tron to attack.

Two minutes from half-time, Thomas crossed and David Parry equalised with a right foot shot for 1-1 at the interval.

On 62 minutes Tron came close to snatching the lead from a corner by Parry to the near post, with Paphiti's header kept out by the woodwork.

Minutes later, Tron substitute Ross Cook shot just wide of the left post. Following a foul on Neal, Dayer's free kick was missed by everyone and hit the left hand post.

The deadlock was broken on 81 minutes when Cook passed around the goalkeeper for Parry to tap in his second for Tron's lead.

Then Cook scored in the 85th minute with a right foot shot, 1-3 to Tron.

Dayers' Clarke fired a left foot shot just wide of the post. Cook got his second a minute from time with a right foot chip to make it 4-1 and ensure the game was safe.

The fourth official called the referee over and Neal, who had been substituted six minutes earlier, was red carded from the bench.

Five minutes of injury time was played before substitute Ryan Watts scored with his first touch after a left cross from Parry to the far post to make it 5-1 to Tron.

The medals were awarded to the players and officials, Derek Pratt (referee), Ade Skeates and Steve Gregory (assistant referees) and John Foster (fourth official), by John Ward, President of the NHDFA and FA Board member.
