HOOK will meet Basingstoke Athletic in the final of the Basingstoke A Cup after their 2-1 win against Tadley Calleva A.

This will be their second final as they had already booked a place in the North Hants May Cup against Tron FC which is on Wednesday (7.30pm) at Whitchurch.

Visiting Tadley put up a good fight, having more of the chances, but in the end Hook won the game as Dave White scored with the winner in the ninth minute of added on time.

It was the visitors who scored the opening goal in the eighth minute lead as top goal scorer Kye Theodore picked up the ball some 40 yards out and with the Hook defence backing off he fired past goalkeeper Gary Harper.

Hook drew level after 18 minutes, when Michael Abbott was dispossessed in midfield, White picked up the ball and chipped the goalkeeper from 30 yards out.

Tadley had chances after the break, as Theodore hit the bar and Abbott the post from a free-kick and when their shots were on target goalkeeper Chris LeBrow pulled off some fine saves.

The decider came when White broke through again and despite the attempt by Barry Stafford to block, the ball ended up beating the helpless Harper.
