HOOK extended their lead at the top of Basingstoke and District Division One to five points after a 4-2 home win in the top of the table clash with Sherborne St John.

Their opener came after just 15 minutes as Andy Haig tapped in from Charlie Page.

Andy Parker added a second and Jack McKee made it 3-0 after 30 minutes.

Sherborne pulled a goal back before the break, after great work from Sachin Rai set-up Sandip Limbu to score.

On 70 minutes, Sherborne scored again from Asher Pirie, before Hook made sure of the points with 10 minutes left as Haig converted Dave White's corner.

Overton United A have moved swiftly up the table after picking up 10 points from their last four games with their latest success being a 3-2 win over DJS Telecoms.

Sami Aldoori opened the scoring assisted by Ryan Watts in the ninth minute.

Just before the hour it became 2-0, as Watts scored from Aldoori and then Terry Locke made it three.

DJS replied from Lee Neal, before Overton had Phil Eves sent-off for a second booking with three minutes to play.

TRON are favourites to win the Basingstoke and District Division Two, despite being held 1-1 by Bounty United.

The key moment in this game was in the 15th minute, when Tron went down to 10 men after Joe Harris was sent off for foul and abusive language to the referee after his goal was ruled offside.

Bounty took the lead five minutes later, from a excellent 25-yard strike from Jordon Willis.

Zac Reynolds hit the bar for Tron and Bounty’s Craig Williamson could have extended their lead before the break.

Tron equalised through Reynolds after 58 minutes and only good saves by goalkeeper Symon Duszynski stopped Kevin Beaumont and Conner Dawber giving Tron the winner. Bounty had new signing Richard Willcock making his debut.

Basingstoke United beat a strong looking Overton B 3-2. United took the lead from a Joe Cook penalty, but Overton drew level from Rob Perrett.

Goalkeeper Chris Parsons kept Overton level as he saved a penalty, before Conner Craig netted from United.

Overton levelled through Kieran Chard, before Cook struck the winner for United.

Herriard Sports warmed up for their North Hants Junior Cup Final against Winklebury Wizards on Wednesday night at Whitchurch United's ground, by beating Basingstoke Athletic Reserves 6-0.

The Athletic second string held them at bay until the 48th minute, thanks to some outstanding saves from Luke Allison.

They then went down to 10 men through injury and Herriard scored from Sam Cato, after being set up by Karl Buttle.

Chris Dobbie scrambled the ball over the line for a second and Cato made it 3-0.

Dobbie netted a second from a Matt Goodman pass and then completed a hat-trick, before Ashley Roberts scored their final goal.

Winklebury Wizards were also amongst the goal beating TDI Group 6-1.

They took a 20 minutes to take the lead from Adam Bartlett and then soon after TDI had Andy Chambers sent off after a second booking.

Bartlett scored a second before the interval and then Scotty Winterborne made it 3-0, before Bartlett completed his hat-trick after 49 minutes.

Greg Adams and Bartlett made it 6-0, before TDI scored a consolation from Matt Beoble and they are now bottom of the table.

AFC Berg remain in the bottom two after a 4-2 loss at AFC Aldermaston A. They had a bad start as in the second Bradley Nicholson scored.

Ashley Jones made it 2-0, but Kieran Allayne pulled a goal back for Berg after the break.

Nick Carter made it 3-1, before Alleyne again reduced the lead. Aldermaston made sure of the win as on came sub Ben Salisbury to score.
