HERRIARD Sports will face Tron in the final of the Basingstoke B Cup on Saturday March 19 (6.30 pm), at the Winklebury Football Complex.

Holders Herriard defeated favourites Basingstoke Athletic last season, will once again be underdogs as they face unbeaten Tron.

They reached the final with a 4-1 victory over AFC Berg, but it was no easy win, as their last three goals came in the final eight minutes.

Berg were not really expected to win against Herriard, unbeaten in Division Two, while Berg are bottom of the table.

Their task became more difficult when they went down to 10 men after 13 minutes, when Jamie Cannings was sent off after bringing down Chris Dobbie, when clear on goal.

Herriard took the lead after 21 minutes, when Adam Nelson put away a cross from Martin Miles with a well placed shot.

Berg equalised two minutes after the break. Full back Richard Ellie was beaten by the pace of Kieran Allayne, who cut in and beat the Herriard manager Craig Lewington, who was in goal in the absence of regular Steven Wood.

On the 55 minute mark, Herriard were awarded a penalty after Dobbie was brought down, but after getting up, he fired the spot kick over the bar.

Berg did not give up the fight, it was only eight minutes from time that Herriard took the lead, as Herriard's Dobbie broke through from a Stuart Minton pass to beat goalkeeper Nick Tucker.

The same player added his second as he lobbed his second over the stranded keeper to make it 3-1.

In the final minute Matt Goodman scored from Alex Roberts’ pass.

Tron look red hot favourites to win the Basingstoke B Cup after they and booked their place in the final with a 6-2 victory over Bounty United on the 3G pitch at Everest School.

Although from the final score it looked an easy win. It was far from that as Bounty scored twice in the first nine minutes.

A hopeful ball down field was picked up by Mitchell Stokes and he found Matt Love who scored from 10 yards out.

Bounty's second goal from a corner kick, which was headed out by Gordon Birch, but returned by a Bounty player.

Tron pulled a goal back in the 38th minute when Johnny Ervin took a free-kick and it was fumbled over the line by the goalkeeper.

Three minutes later, the scores were level as Richard Kalwarczyk lobbed home following a 50-yard pass from Ben Nicholls.

In the 48th minute, Tron took the lead when a corner by Ervin was headed down by Barney Powell and Stuart Austen scored on the half volley.

Birch headed his side's fourth goal from a Ervin’s corner.

A clash of heads between Jordon Willis and Zac Reynolds meant a rush to hospital for the Bounty captain and Reynolds was also forced out of the contest.

This meant Richard McCoubrie came on as a sub for Tron and he scored with his first touch to make it 5-2.

Man of the match Ervin scored the goal of the game to wrap up the scoring with a 25 yarder.
