BEN Nicholls return inspired Tron FC into the semi-finals of the North Hants May Cup after they crushed Tadley Calleva A 4-0 at Barlow's Park.

Nicholls out since October due to suspension and injury opened the scoring after 40 seconds from a long clearance from goalkeeper Adam Aimable.

It become 2-0 by half-time as Nicholls slide in and his shot came off full back Dan Walkley.

SHERBORNE St John moved level on points with the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One leaders Hook, following their 2-1 win at Preston Candover against TwentyTen.

Alan Spacagna is still wondering how his team lost this one and even the Sherborne manager Trevor Livingstone admitted they rode their luck and could have lost by three or four with better finishing from the opposition.

Sherborne took the lead after 30 minutes, when Tobi Judd was fouled in the area. Ibrahim Waheed took the spot kick which was saved by Jack Nicholson, but Judd followed up to net the rebound.

Numerous chances fell to TwentyTen and they eventually equalised through Ryan Lupton after 58 minutes.

A minute later, Sherborne were reduced to 10 men, as Ronnie Tamale already booked by referee Tony Lane in the first half, received a second yellow card for another poor challenge.

TwentyTen missed more good chances and then in the 75th minute, Sherborne made a rare sortie at the other end and regained the lead.

It came from a long throw by Judd, which was not cleared and fell to Tom Brickley and his shot on the turn hit the net for the winner.

Matt Kelly scored a hat trick for Basingstoke Labour Club against DJS Telecoms, but it was not enough as DJS won 5-4.

Kelly gave Labour a first minute lead, but a deflected shot off Mel Craggs levelled things up.

Kelly scored again and Cameron George made it 3-3, but DJS were 4-3 up at the break.

Kelly then equalised and it remained level until Lee Neal, who had scored earlier on, came up with his second and the winner with a 25-yard shot. DJS other scorers were Nick Saunders, Allan Morgan and Jason Freathy.

OVERTON United B took over top spot in Division Two as Herriard Sports had a week off and Tron involved in cup action, after a 3-0 win over Basingstoke Athletic Reserves.

This was not an easy win, as Overton only broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute thanks to Nathan Rae.

Only a great save from Liam Randall stopped Matt Dean scoring an equalizer with a 25 yards drive.

Overton then added two more goals as substitute Jessie Todd netted and then Rae scored assisted by Joe Holder.

Bounty United move into second spot after hammering AFC Berg 8-0, and with just one defeat looks on course for promotion.

Andy Darmody lobbed the second from a Craig Williamson pass and by half time it was 4-0, after Mitchell Stokes scored twice, the second being a penalty.

Love soon completed his hat-trick after the interval and Darmody netted his second and then Love scored his fourth to complete the rout.
