TRON booked their place in the final of Sunday's Kelvin Cup with a superb 8-3 victory over visiting Andover Sports.

Having gone a goal down, the home side hit as Dave Parry, James Tarrant and Chris Morris made it 3-1.

Andover pulled a goal back, but strikes from Scott Winterbourne and Michael Allison stretched the lead to 5-2 at the interval.

The second half was more even and the visitors scored first, before super sub Ross Cook scored a devastating hat-trick within six minutes to make it 8-3 with 10 minutes left.

Two goals down at half-time, Soldiers Return faced an uphill task against Arms Athletic in their semi-final tie at home.

The first goal came after 20 minutes, the second from the spot, conceded for handball.

The second half was more even and the gap and Soldiers made it 2-1 after Cobi Judd picking up a through ball and scored.

However, the home side were sunk by a mistake in defence as they lost 3-1.

Arms Athletic, unbeaten in the league and favourites for the Andover championship, will face Tron, now with three consecutive wins under their belts in the Kelvin Cup final.

There was only one match in the Basingstoke and District League Division Two survived referees' morning pitch inspections.

This saw Team beat Chineham 2-1, with strikes from Mark Frost and Connor Mackenzie, while Kieron Alleyne replied.

Division Three leaders North Warnborough Reserves found the pitch heavy going in the first half against DG Athletic, with neither side able to score.

Once they turned round though, Athletic seemed to tire more noticeably than the hosts, so Warnborough found it easier to press forward and find gaps in the visitors' defence.

Sean Delfosse scored twice in open play, then won and converted a penalty to complete his hat-trick.

Tired DG virtually collapsed from then on as Alex Jeffers added two more as Warnborough won 7-0.

Basingstoke Saints Reserves were beaten 8-1 by Camrose Social, with goals from Luke Upton, Luke Hobday, Byron Letch (penalty), Jason Bowdery, and braces from Aaron Burt and Adam Robinson.

Soldiers Return Reserves played host to Chineham Athletic, and faced the wind and rain in the first half, finding themselves a goal down after 30 minutes.

Tom Hartley shot on the turn from the edge of area equalised, then James Boshier crossed for Matt Kelly to score to put Soldiers 2-1 ahead at half-time.

Early on after the break, chances for both sides went begging, as playing conditions were not great.

By midway through the half Athletic had bounced back with two strikes to regain a 3-2 lead.

However, Matt Kelly was sent on a solo run from Hartley's pass, taking the ball round the goalkeeper for 3-3 to ensure honours were even. Athletic's goals came from Steve Hartwell, Ben Owen, and Ollie Owen.
