Davies opened his account from the penalty spot after he was brought down on the 21 minute mark.

Four minutes later, Tim Hearson played in Andy Parker and then Davies made it 3-0 at half-time.

SHERBORNE St John moved back to second spot in the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One after 3-2 win at Hampshire Irons.

The visitors led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Jack Murphy and Jack Stallard. Irons pulled a goal back as Ben Woods converted a penalty after Charlie Henry had been floored in the box.

Tobi Judd made it 3-2, before with 10 minutes left James Arnold scored to set up a tense finish.

Basingstoke Athletic lost 8-1 to visiting Overton United A.

Ryan Watts, Matt Bonner and Chris Morris’ penalty made it 3-0 at the break.

After the interval, Bonner scored his second and then Overton’s impressive winger 17-years-old Louis McCann also scored.

Athletic’s James Lounton who started the game in goal then scored, but Overton were not finished as Watts and Morris wrapped up the scoring.

In Division Two, Basingstoke Athletic Reserves won at AFC Berg 3-0 as Adrian Fitzsimmons, George Byrne and Tim Webb all scored.

AFC Aldermaston A beat Winklebury Wizards 2-1 even if they went a goal down after Scott Winterbourne scored.

Kevin Flain equalised after 55 minutes and then Adam Barfoot struck the winner from a free-kick.
