DAYERS Fine Foods' first win this season in the Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One, came as an early Christmas present, on the last Sunday before the festivities.

Dayers won 3-0 at home to Basingstoke Saints, with goals from Jordan Wainwright, Joe Hill and Charlie Manning.

A close fought game, the game hinged on a controversial second goal, leaving Saints a big a hill to climb.

Eastrop Eagles won the only Division 2 match staged on Sunday2-0 against Team FC.

North Warnborough Reserves had a dream start in their Division Three match against Soldiers Return Reserves, with two goals in the bag within 90 seconds on their way to a 6-1 win.

The first goal came straight from the kick-off, the second provided by the astute Sean Delfosse, who noticed the Soldiers' goalkeeper was well off his line, and managed to lob him from fully 40 yards.

Soldiers settled down after those shock early reverses and even created some chances.

Another goal followed on the half hour mark from Delfosse and by half-time it was 5-0.

Soldiers missed a spot kick conceded a sixth , before they scored a late consolation goal.

Chineham Reserves beat visiting FC Benidorm of Stoke 3-2, with home side's goals from James Stacey, Tyler Andrews and Jordan Plenderleith. Captain David Gallichan and Adam Aimable netted for the visitors.

DG Athletic recorded their third win on the trot as they hit Basingstoke Saints Reserves for six without reply. Brodie Good scored a brace, with singles from James Brown, Richie Budd, Paul Ralph, and Jez Cheek.
