BASINGSTOKE Athletic beat Baughurst AFC 2-1 in the first round of the North Hants Junior Cup.

Athletic took the lead with a well struck 25-yard shot from Colin Davies in the tenth minute.

Kieran Challis' penalty doubled the advantage, before Baughurst scored late in the second half.

Sherborne St John moved back to second in the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One after beating Hampshire Irons 3-2 .

They took a 15th minute lead through Ibraheem Waheed, but two minutes later Irons were level from Charlie Henry Sherborne regained the lead on the hour from Alex Izzo's 25-yard strike and Sachin Rai made it 3-1, before Henry netted his second for Irons.

In Division Two, Basingstoke Athletic Reserves beat AFC Berg 2-1, after Tom Strong gave them a sixth minute lead.

It was just before half time when Kieran Alleyne equalised, before Ryan Cousins scored the winner.

TDI Group lost at Basingstoke United by the odd goal in nine.

Joe Cook gave United the lead and after Graham Jenkins levelled Lewis Clayton gave United a 2-1 advantage at the break.

A minute into the second half, Cook scored again, but Hugo Carlos score twice to level the scores.

Cook completed his hat trick and then Clayton netted his second to make it 5-3.

TDI were not finished as Matt Beoble scored their fourth and only the linesman's flag denied them a equaliser in the last minute when Jenkins found the net again.
